Basket Weave End Grain Butcher Block
Walnut border, maple & cherry pattern
This end grain butcher block was built custom for a client with some specific needs.
The surface features a basket weave pattern built from maple and cherry. Each section is a slice of maple set between two strips of cherry, rotated 90 degrees every other row, running consistently across the full cutting surface. A solid 1 inch walnut border frames the entire board, and the Wild Board logo is laser engraved directly into the walnut on the side.
To finish it off, we use a generous coat of Wild Board Conditioner, to preserve and protect the wood fibers from moisture.
Portability was central to the design. Finger holds are routed into all four sides, set within the walnut border giving this board a visually unique and functional utility. The board moves easily without losing grip regardless of where it is headed in the kitchen.
The board is dual sided. One side includes a juice groove designed to contain liquids when carving large cuts of meat. The other side is completely flat for chopping vegetables, fruit, or any general prep work.
