Our Commitment to You and our wild places
Environmental Impact
Businesses leave a mark on the environment. Wild Board Studio takes that seriously.
Where It Started
The outdoor lifestyle came first. The business followed. And with both came a responsibility to the places and resources that make either one possible. That commitment extends beyond our workshop. As the founder of Wild Board Studio, Kenny holds active memberships in conservation organizations dedicated to preserving wildlife, wild habitats and ensuring future generations have the same access to the outdoors that he is fortunate enough to have today.
The Wood We Choose
That mindset carries into every piece of wood we bring through the door. Our lumber is selected from suppliers with decades of commitment to responsible forest stewardship. Suppliers who actively support hardwood reforestation efforts, contribute to conservation initiatives, and understand that a healthy forest and a healthy marketplace are one and the same. We choose our suppliers as carefully as we choose our lumber, because where the material comes from matters as much as what it becomes. We also source from local independent suppliers closer to home. Small operations that salvage urban timber and source from a wide range of origins across the country. Wood that would otherwise be lost. Good material shouldn't go to the chipper.
Honest About Packaging
We are mindful of our shipping practices and primarily use easily recyclable materials in the majority of our packaging procedures. We make every effort to avoid plastics wherever possible in shipping. However every board that ships is carefully sealed in a thin plastic film in order to preserve and contain the fresh coat of food safe conditioner applied to the board prior to shipping. It also serves as an additional layer of protection during transit. This film is not accepted in curbside recycling programs. We ask you to look into your local options for recycling these types of plastics and drop it off there rather than tossing it in the trash.
Looking Ahead
As Wild Board Studio grows, so does our commitment. Supporting conservation and reforestation efforts financially is a goal we are actively working toward, and one we take seriously.
Personal
Every decision outlined here traces back to the same place. A deep connection to the outdoors, a respect for the land and the wildlife that live on it, and an understanding that businesses like ours have a role to play in keeping it intact. This is not a policy we revisit once a year. It is how we operate every day. Here, sustainability is not a marketing position. It is personal.
