Why not have things be just a little nicer?

This Portafilter handle underwent a major transformation after I got my hands on it. As a craftsman who values both form and function, I wanted to create a handle that not only looked good but also felt good in the user's hand. The new handle was designed with a true coffee and espresso aficionado in mind, someone who appreciates the finer things in life.

For this project, I chose to use Zebra Wood as the primary material for the handle. This wood has a unique, striking pattern that resembles the stripes of a zebra. The colors of the wood range from creamy white to a warm caramel brown, creating a beautiful contrast that catches the eye. The handle has a coffee and cream kind of feel to it, much like what you'd see floating on top of a perfectly brewed latte.

But this handle isn't just about looks. I wanted to make sure that it was durable enough to withstand daily use, which is why I added a brass rod to reinforce the threaded rod. This not only adds extra strength to the handle but also gives it a touch of elegance.

Overall, this new Portafilter handle is a thing of beauty. It not only enhances the aesthetics of the Portafilter, but also ensures that the coffee will keep flowing for years to come, making it a must-have for any coffee or espresso lover.
