The Ghost and The Darkness - Framed Wall Art

This artwork bears a striking resemblance to a pair of menacing lion's eyes, gazing intently at the observer. Initially, during its early stages of creation, this piece had no specific direction and was originally conceived as a mere experiment in epoxy pouring, destined for the scrap heap. However, as fate would have it, the piece seemed to take on a life of its own. With each completed step, the next one unfolded naturally, compelling me to see it through to its full realization.

Due to its uncanny likeness to lion eyes, I decided to christen this creation as "The Ghost and the Darkness," a homage to the 1996 film that tells the tale of two man-eating lions wreaking havoc on a railroad crew in Tsavo, Kenya.

Given that lions are native to Africa, I felt it was fitting to encase this artwork in a frame crafted from African Padauk. The vibrant red hue of this particular wood perfectly complements the essence of the piece.

MATERIALS:
Frame: African Padauk
Main Wood: Chinese Elm
Eyes: Black Died Epoxy Resin

DIMENSIONS
Length: 32 1/8”
Width: 9 1/8”
Depth: 3/4”
