Standing Magnetic Knife Block
26 × 11 × 5
This is the kind of piece that earns a permanent spot on the counter, not just because of what it does, but because of what it is.
The face is milled from curly maple, a wood known for its tight, rippling figure that shifts and shimmers as the light moves across it. At 24 inches wide with a graceful arc sweeping from 11 inches down to 7, the silhouette draws the eye before you ever notice the knives. Nested inside are powerful neodymium magnets, inlaid flush and invisible, holding blades securely without scratching, without slots, without fuss.
The base is solid wenge, a dense hardwood with near black tones and tight cathedral grain that reads almost like brushstrokes under finish. At 26 inches long, 5 inches wide, and 2 inches thick, it anchors the whole piece without question. No wobble. No tipping.
Light and pale maple rising out of a dark, nearly ebony base. The wenge is tight and linear. The maple is wild and dimensional. Together they balance in a way that feels intentional from every angle.
A Roman ogee roundover runs the perimeter of the base per the customer's request, and rubber feet keep the block planted on any counter surface. The face stands 9 inches clear of the base, giving most chef knives, cleavers, and everything smaller plenty of room to seat and release cleanly.
