Black Walnut End Grain Butcher Block Countertop

This custom butcher block countertop was commissioned for a home in Park City, Utah, and built from 100% black walnut. Measuring 61.75 x 25.5 x 2.75 inches, it was designed to serve as the primary work surface on the large kitchen island. The scale of the build is evident in the finished installation.
Black walnut brings natural variation in tone across every slab, and at this size that variation has room to show. The surface is finished to a silky smooth 320 grit, and the end grain construction visible along the edges gives the countertop a distinct character that sets it apart from an edge grain surface.
Once complete, the entire counter top was finished with our own Wild Board Conditioner. Giving it that nice we all want in our boards.
