5 Piece nesting Grazing Table - Charcuterie Set
Cherry, Walnut, Maple, Padauk, Hickory
This grazing table set was commissioned for a high end resort in Park City, Utah, designed in collaboration with the head chef to serve large parties without requiring the entire table to be cleared between refreshments. The solution was a set of five nesting boards, each removable individually, so a single piece can be taken to the kitchen for a refresh and returned to the table without disrupting the rest of the spread.
Each of the five boards is built from a different species. Cherry, recognizable by its warm orange tone. Figured hard maple, which carries a natural shimmer that shifts with the light and adds visual depth to the surface. African padauk, chosen specifically for its deep crimson red, which creates a strong contrast against the surrounding boards. Hickory, with the sapwood and heartwood deliberately arranged to emphasize the tonal shift between the two. And walnut as the centerpiece, with the sapwood aligned across all five boards so the lighter tones flow continuously from one piece to the next, giving the assembled set the appearance of a single connected surface. The result is five boards that work independently, yet read as one piece.
The entire set was finished with our own Wild Board Conditioner.
